Xinhua president meets with important guests attending BRICS Media and Think Tank Forum

RIO DE JANEIRO, July 16 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua on Wednesday met with important guests attending the BRICS Media and Think Tank Forum in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Fu noted that the first Global South Media and Think Tank Forum was successfully held in Sao Paulo in November last year, and Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva sent congratulatory letters to the forum, respectively.

This year, Xinhua News Agency, in collaboration with Brazilian media organizations, jointly held the BRICS Media and Think Tank Forum to implement the spirit of the congratulatory letters and important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, jointly promote Global South cooperation and widely publicize cooperation achievements of the BRICS leaders' meeting, he said.

Fu expressed his confidence that the forum would contribute unique media wisdom and think tank strength to promoting the high-quality development of the "greater BRICS cooperation."

Carlos Hernandez, president of the Central American Parliament, and other guests expressed their appreciation for Xinhua's leading role in promoting collaboration among media think tanks, and hoped BRICS media think tanks would further strengthen unity and cooperation, so that the international community can hear the resounding voice of the Global South more clearly.
