The Kimberley Process, which is an initiative intended to stem the flow of conflict diamonds, may decide to suspend Zimbabwe from its ranks.

At its annual meeting in Namibia this week, the group will decide whether to oust Zimbabwe after it breached human rights and ignored a Harare court order to allow the Chiadswz diamond fields to be managed by British company, African Consolidated Resources, which the court determined was the owner of the fields.

Last year a delegation from the Kimberley Process heard its own testimony from witnesses who had allegedly been abused by members of President Robert Mugabe's security forces after being found digging around the diamond fields.

Zimbabwe helicopter gunships were used in an operation to take control of the Chiadzwa diamond field.

Many poverty stricken people digging for diamonds were allegdly shot by security forces.

It is believed the Zimbabwe army and police are continuing to control the diamond fields in a wide security area.

Zimbabwe may be ousted from blood diamond initiative

How can any person be happy wearing a stone that is used to pay for the murder and torture of a whole country.. DO NOT BUY DIAMONDS or you are just as guilty as the person pulling the trigger of a gun that you helped pay for!

Blood diamonds quote

As a kid on the farm close to Marangwe we used small black hard unbreakable stones in our catapults to shoot at crows, cans, bottles, and anything else that cought our eyes.
Probably the best use of the blood diamonds yet.
